The first day of spring has always been a time to celebrate life…that is life that is played on a baseball diamond or softball field.

It sometimes was a period of frustration when the vestiges of winter still lingered on our streets and avenues and, more importantly, the various playgrounds in the Bronx where we tried to mimic our baseball heroes throwing and hitting the ball to our friends on the field.

A new frustration permeates the air on this first spring day in America that has nothing to do with the weather.

For a president who cannnot make it through a rally or news conference without all the problems that he created, he insists it’s all Joe Biden’s fault. He has no problem forgetting (his major skill is forgetting) that Biden inherited his mess of an economy weakened (obliterated?) by his failure with dealing with COVID. And now, with that burned out shell of a Kennedy in charage of our health system, we are one step closer to a pandemic of a disease we have already cured and eliminated.

Republicans are scared silly of offending this grifter in chief and I am afraid they will even tolerate his taking over the election system because he knows what he is in for if the Dems win control. They have no stomach for looking back at what they said about him when he was just a candidate in 2016. The hypocrisy of these shameless cowards will be written about for a hundred years…provided America still exists in one hundred years.

Meanwhile, America is in an unwinable forever war and the neverending Epstein scandal continues to fester while nothing else is getting done.

We have lost the space race to America in the 60s and 70s.

AI threatens to take over the US economy and eliminate more jobs than automation ever did.

We have no allies because he insulted all our friends and continues to threaten them with annexation and/or tariffs.

But today is the first day of spring so let’s hope by the first day of winter this will all be a horrible memory and his administration will be bogged down with a lame duck leader and all his Republican supporters will finally grow a pair and abandon him if only for their own political survival.
